Hotel Booking Assistance — Luxor, Cairo, Aswan & Hurghada
Hotel recommendations and bookings based on seventeen years of local knowledge.
Luxor has a significant range of accommodation. At the top end: the Winter Palace, one of the great colonial-era hotels of the Nile, and the Sofitel, which has the most consistently maintained large pool in the city. Below that tier: a dozen mid-range properties of genuinely varying quality, where the difference between a good room and a problematic one is sometimes a matter of which floor you are assigned. None of this is captured well by the review aggregators.
I have stayed in or visited most of the serious hotels in Luxor. I know which properties have air conditioning that actually works in July. I know which pool is clean in February. I know which hotel's river-view rooms have an unobstructed view and which have a partial obstruction from the winter garden extension they added in 2019. I know the duty manager at several properties and what that means for getting a room assignment changed if yours is unsatisfactory.
I do not add a markup to hotel rates. My value is the knowledge and the relationship. I confirm the booking and send you the confirmation details directly. If something changes — a room category issue, a maintenance problem at the property, a date change — I handle it.

Common questions
- Do you add a markup to the hotel rate?
- No. I do not add a markup to hotel rates. My value is the knowledge and the relationship, not a commission on your room rate. I confirm the booking and send you the confirmation details directly.
- Should I stay on the East Bank or the West Bank?
- The East Bank is the city — more amenities, better restaurant options, more activity in the evening. The West Bank is quieter and closer to the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut. If your itinerary is weighted toward West Bank sites, the guest houses and small hotels there are worth considering. The Nile ferry takes four minutes.
- What is the best five-star hotel in Luxor?
- The Winter Palace offers something no other Luxor hotel does: a colonial-era building with genuinely beautiful gardens, a pool area consistently well-maintained, and a location on the East Bank corniche within walking distance of Luxor Temple. The Old Winter Palace rooms are more interesting than the newer wing. Tell me your preference and I will specify it in the booking.
- Can you arrange hotels in Cairo, Aswan, and Hurghada too?
- Yes. I arrange accommodation in Aswan, Cairo, and Hurghada for clients extending their Egypt journey. The same principle applies: properties I know personally, specific room category guidance, and a booking confirmed before you arrive.
- What if the room is not satisfactory when I arrive?
- I know the duty manager at several properties and what that means for getting a room assignment changed. If something is wrong, contact me by WhatsApp and I will handle it from my end.
- How far in advance should I book?
- For October through April — the peak season — the better properties fill up two to three months in advance, particularly around Christmas and Easter. For summer visits, one to two weeks is usually sufficient. I recommend booking as early as possible if your dates are fixed.
